in memory of grandad, who passed away this morning. i took this photo of my grandparents a couple years ago in the parking lot at stonehenge.

this is emily.
the photo was taken on a december night while we were drinking gin at my house.
this was the night that she first told me she had feelings for me... probably one of the happiest nights of my life.

a rose i gave to patti once... i forget why.

this was taken in some forest in scotland, absolutely in the middle of nowhere. i was living in Kagyu Samye Ling at the time, one of the Dalai Lama's buddhist monasteries. the subject is Tara, a girl i met living there as well.. she was from Australia, and like me had been backpacking across the UK studying at various monasteries and centers, whatever we could find.
on one of my last days practicing with the monks, we decided to let loose a bit... so we hitch hiked (via tractors of course) for hours into town and bought a bottle of port which we drank in the woods that evening while we took pictures.

after i left scotland, we lost touch... ive tried to find her, but i know i never will. she was definitely a nomad.

taken in NYC a couple years ago, central park style. nothing amazing, but i like the contrast between the fragile leaf and the other elements in the shot... though it is quite obvious and typical.

this is a self portrait.
i was bored one day... but it turned out nice. the amount of detail that showed up surprised me.
